Rayleigh Hi-Fi goes back to the music
Essex-based Rayleigh Hi-Fi Sound & Vision, which has four stores and a separate custom installation department, is turning its Rayleigh store back into one where the focus is on music. And it's planning a programme of special events to mark the move.
Andy Page, formerly assistant manager at Rayleigh Hi-Fi's Chelmsford location, is in charge of the revamped store. He says that “Running a specialist hi-fi store has been a long-term desire and I'm thoroughly enjoying listening to some great music through a wonderful gathering of world class hi-fi at Rayleigh. Selecting the products to stock has been a real labour of love.”
The company's other three stores – in Chelmsford, Colchester and Southend – will continue to stock a selected range of hi-fi as well as a full audio-visual choice, but the most comprehensive range of hi-fi and the hi-end selection is at the Rayleigh store.
High-end systems on demonstration
Products on display and demonstration will include the Naim 500 Series and Focal/JMlab's Utopia speakers, along with ranges from the likes of Chord Electronics, Cyrus, Linn, Moon, Neat, Rega, Spendor, Sugden and Totem.
The store will be staging a number of special events in the next couple of months, kicking off with the Linn 'Future of Music' Roadshow on Thursday, February 26. This will include the latest Linn products including the DS streaming system, and the company's top-end Klimax system will be on demonstration.
A month later, on Thursday March 26, there's a Linn LP12 Service Day, where owners can have their turntable given the once-over free of any labour charge, while the following Tuesday, March 3, there's a Rega Service Day.
Finally, on March 5 there's a Naim Reference Event, where you can hear a complete Naim 500 system in action.
