First it was going to be £500. Then yesterday the price was confirmed at £450. And today, Onkyo has slashed the price of its brand-new DV-BD606 Blu-ray player to just £399.99 – just 24 hours after the press release was issued.
Perhaps it's a sign of the times, given the current economic climate. Or perhaps Onkyo (like us) had already seen the player being sold on the internet for well under £400.
Either way, it's great news for you, the buyer. We already have a review sample of the player in our test rooms, with the results scheduled for publication in the January 2009 issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, on sale December 11th.
But assuming the price doesn't drop any further, we may treat you to an earlier review online. For full details on the Onkyo DV-BD606, read our original story here.
More after the break
And in a separate development, we've been told to expect price cuts shortly on a range of Klipsch headphones, including the 2008 Award-winning Klipsch Image. Watch this space.
