NEWS: Linn Records boosts SACD with two bargain collections

Linn Records is giving its SACD catalogue a boost with the release of two package deals of classic albums, available until the end of June.

Each package includes 10 albums on multichannel/stereo hybrid SACD, and sells for £49.99, representing a saving of more than 50% on the normal selling price.

The Jazz collection includes Claire Martin's Too Darn Hot!, Carol Kidd's first Linn album Debut and two discs by Barb Jungr, Waterloo Sunset and her Elvis tribute, Love Me Tender.

Others in the package include Sir Willard White's disc of songs made famous by Paul Robeson, Tommy Smith's Blue Smith and two Martin Taylor albums, Artistry and Spirit of Django.

The classical collection includes three world premiere recordings by James McMillan, a disc of Ravel piano works and another of Beethoven piano sonatas played by Artur Pizarro, Dvorak and Prokofiev violin concertos, and the Poulenc Organ Concerto played by Dame Gillian Weir and the English Chamber Orchestra.

Both collections are now available from the Linn Records website.
