Creative has cut the cost of its Zen 4GB and 8GB players, with the smaller version dropping from £89.99 to £79.99, while the larger version is reduced by £20 to £99.99. There's also a new 32GB version, available for £249.99.

"This means you can get an 8GB Zen for the same price as a 4GB Apple iPod nano," says Creative.

The new Zen 32GB can hold up to 16,000 tracks and includes an SD card slot for adding extra memory.

As for video, the Zen's 2.5in TFT display can show up to 16.7 million colours and the device will handle MJPEG or WMV9 files at 320 x 240 resolution. Owners can convert MPEG-1. MPEG-2,MPEG-4SP and DivX files using the supplied software.
