NAD unveils new 'Classic Series' stereo amp

3 Nov 2008

NAD C326BEE
New from NAD is the C326BEE, a £275 stereo amplifier designed as a 'budget reference' to challenge higher priced premium brands.

Designed by NAD Director of Advanced Development Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the new ‘Classic Series' components are said to "set a benchmark for challenging the iconic luxury brands in the area of absolute overall performance for price".

Delivering 50W per channel, the amp replaces the C325BEE, and has Edvardsen's PowerDrive, BEE Clamp and Distortion Cancelling Circuits.

And with an eye to the enviroment, it draws less than 1W in standby.

Something strange is going on with NAD. The amplifiers from NAD are known of their high current output. My old NAD C300 with only 2x 25watt RMS could deliver a peak current of 40A. This new NAD C326BEE has 2x 50watt RMS, but has a peak current of only 20A.

Anyone know more about this?

When do NAD expect this product will be on the shelves for sale?
