Get the entire works of Bach on an iPod for £499

Here's a nice little Christmas present for classical music lovers. Online classical download store Passionato has teamed up with Hanssler Classic to offer a 120GB Apple iPod pre-loaded with the complete works of Bach.
The Bach iPod comes with a full DVD backup included and costs £499. Passionato and Hanssler claim that to buy the complete works of Bach on CD would cost around £1000.
All the Bach recordings are uploaded to the iPod as 128kbps AAC files, which leaves 63GB of free space on the player.
The three backup DVDs enable buyers to load all the music into their iTunes library, ensuring that if they sync their iPod with their Mac or PC they won't lose all the Bach music off the iPod.
The Bach iPod can be ordered online from the Passionato website.

Re Apple ditching the 160 iPod. Officially the reason was that not many people wanted that much storage - not enough hi-fi fans wanting iPods then. Let's all e-mail Apple to let them know we want a 320GB next year, even if it is bigger and bulkier. I bought the nano and just resigned myself to connecting to my Mac every couple of weeks, emptying the player and filling it with something else. (at Lossless or AIFF, apart from my language lessons which are at a mere 128kbps AAC).
Andy isn't 'defending' Passionato, merely stating what they told us!
But I agree re the bit-rate - shame Apple ditched that 160GB Classic, eh?
To Andy - 'Passionata normally supplies its downloads in 320kbps or lossless FLAC format, but it was felt this would fill up too much of the iPod.'
I cannot believe you're defending Passionata, I can categorically state that on my iPod nano 3g (video) 128k AAC files sound patently rubbish. I rip all my CDs at 256k and sound good.
This package is a complete waste of money.
Passionata normally supplies its downloads in 320kbps or lossless FLAC format, but it was felt this would fill up too much of the iPod.
Except for the fact that 160GB iPods are no longer made, It does seem expensive though, when Complete works of Bach collections are available in CD boxed sets for £150 and under and a 120 gig iPod is £175, which by my reckoning means you are paying £174 for the convenience of having someone else do the loading. Finally, I would not listen to Father Johann's great works at anything less than lossless.
...if there were a 160Gb ipod any more!
Seems expensive, especially for a 128kbps version. Surely a 160GB iPod and a 320kbps version would've been better...
