Duracell myGrid

Duracell has launched the myGrid wireless power pad. Yours for £70, it's one of the first devices on the market to use conductive charging technology, allowing you to simply put your portable on the pad and watch it charge.

You'll need a 'power sleeve' or 'power clip' for all the devices you want to charge, a mains supply for the myGrid itself, and then you're good to go.

Ensure the electrical contacts on the sleeve or clip are in direct contact with the pad's energised surface and watch as power is transferred from the pad's surface to your mobile device.

You can charge up to four devices on the pad and there are compatible sleeves and clips for iPhone and iPod Touch, miniUSB and microUSB machines, plus Nokia, BlackBerry and many more.

And as a smart touch, the myGrid automatically stops charging when the device in question is fully charged.

If you're smitten with the idea, you can even win one of five that Duracell is giving away – though you'll need a film script up your sleeve... Head to the 'Entangled' microsite to read more about the competition.

Maybe the point is that you can charge 4 devices only using one power point. I can remember many times swapping chargers over to get my ipod charged instead of phones etc.Just a thought.

Not too bad an idea, looks like it plugs into the USB socket.  I have the inductive charging back plate for my palm pre phone.  Just place it on the touchstone and it charges, no need to keep plugging it in.

Sorry, I don't get the point of these? You have to plug something into your device and then place it on a mat which has to be plugged in to charge? Surely this is more complicated than plugging your phone in to charge?
