Crystal Acoustics unveils £50 PicoHD5.1 portable media player

This tiny device from Crystal Acoustics is a portable media player that turns any USB memory stick or NAS drive into an entertainment source for your high-definition TV.
Measuring just 7.5 x 6.5 x 1.5cm, and weighing 60g, the PicoHD5.1 delivers HD video up to 1080p via its HDMI output, and supports 5.1 multichannel audio.
The device works with USB drives as well as SD, SDHC and MMC media cards, transferring music and video files held on them directly to your TV.
There's support for DiVx, WMV, FLAC, .MKV, MP3, JPEG and BMP file formats, and the USB hub will work with FAT, FAT32 and NTFS external hard drives.
There's also a 5.1 audio output for transferring surround sound to your home cinema amp.

Indeed the PicoHD5.1 does have some external similarities to some other models available in the market. We would though like to underline the main characteristics that render it a much more capable and unique Media Player at the size.
The PicoHD5.1 can output 1080p Full HD resolution for all Movie and Photo files, instead of being limited to 720p output for Movie files and 1080p for Photos.
On the other hand, Crystal Acoustics’ engineers have developed the exclusive capability of direct digital 5.1 DTS/Dobly AC3 audio output, through a coaxial plug, for the complete enjoyment of multichannel soundtracks on Home Cinema systems.
As for the remote, Crystal Acoustics’ engineers have designed a faceplate with a special IR “window” which offers improved IR codes reception from the player’s controller.

Please, BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS
A. There are similar players in the market, which are limited to 720p movies playback without 5.1 audio and 1080p for photos only. The original PicoHD5.1 fully supports 1080p output for all file types.
B. The Multichannel 5.1 coaxial audio output is a feature engineered exclusively by Crystal Acoustics, not available on counterfeit products.

Strange - looks just like my Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2 Multi Media MKV Player, though that doesn't do 1080p. The remote is identical (and horrible).
