The BBC triggered something of a revolution with the release of its iPlayer service. Allowing users to watch BBC content online whenever they want, the iPlayer service is now available on Sky's Sky Player.

And Sky Player is? Well, it's essentially BSkyB's equivalent software, giving Sky subscribers access to Sky's movies, sports and TV shows online. Now, should you click on a BBC programme in Sky Planner, you'll be whisked away to the BBC iPlayer software.

Sky Player is now the largest legal movie download site in Europe – head over to the website here to see what all the fuss about.

In other news, it's that time of year when Sky lets some top designers loose on its boxes to sguiggle over them however they see fit. And squiggle they have.

See the end result of the Sky+ HD designer boxes – we're not convinced – at the top of the page, or take a look at the Sky site here for more information.

sky player....what rubbish that they have refused to recognise Apple mac customers...you can only watch it if you have a windows pc...not smart at all. Apple may only have 5% market share, but the bbc iplayer puts a huge company like sky to shame! Well done to the beeb, for getting it right, and letting mac users access their service..
