HRT iStreamer
Innovative DAC takes digital signal direct from portable player, outputs analogue to amplifier

On the way from High Resolution Technologies via UK distributor Audiofreaks is the iStreamer, a £195 DAC designed to take digital audio from iPods, iPhones and iPads and deliver high-quality analogue audio.

Following on from the success of the company's Music Streamer models, the new iStreamer connects to the Apple portable device using the standard USB sync lead provided by Apple, and has a USB power input and indicators for 32kHz, 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling rates.

At the other end of the compact housing is a pair of analogue audio outputs to connect to a hi-fi amp, receiver or system.

The HRT iStreamer is expected to be widely available by February next year.
