Apple confirms new flagship store will open on August 7th

Apple's new flagship will open in Covent Garden, London, on August 7th, the company has confirmed today.
The store looks set to cover four floors of the building, though only two will be accessible to the general public, reports the London Evening Standard.
It's hoped the new store will ease pressure – and the infamous queues – at the company's Regent Street location (pictured), recently named as the most profitable store per square foot in London.
The Evening Standard reports the building has been painstakingly restored in recent months, with customers expected to enter through a lavish eight-bay arcade in to the glass-roofed building.
If you feel like joining the throng of people outside for the 10am opening on August 7th, you can at least expect the odd free gift for your time if previous Apple openings are anything to go by.
But surely the real question is will you be able to get any reception on your iPhone 4 once you're inside?

Well, there is an iStore in Basingstoke, dazmb...
Clare I have no reason to doubt what you say is true, given the hysterical over-hyped marketing nonsense that precedes every Apple release and continues on throughout it's lifespan (and to which WHF is IMO guilty of helping to propogate what with the minute by minute rundowns of Apples press confs complete with Steve's record-breaking attempts to say the words 'amazing' & 'incredible' & 'revolutionary' more times in 1 hour than anyone would think was humanly possible).
Back on topic perhaps if these glossy stores did not exist the prices could come down a bit. Or perhaps they could have a store in Basingstoke instead! Or scrub the Basing how about a store in Stoke? No I can't see that for Apple empire somehow can you. It's just not bling enough for them.
Cards on teh table, it's no secret I am an Apple-hater. I just can't get past the obsessive fanboi trash that surrounds their often so-so products.
To illustrate my point, I understand from what I read that HTC make the best smartphones at this particular point in time. So why don't I see features on BBC's 10pm news when HTC release a new smartphone? So why then when Apple release an inferior product to HTC do I/we have to suffer 5 minutes of viewing hysterical Apple fanboi's who smell bad having not washed since they camped outside the (insert city name here) Apple store for a week waiting for the latest over-priced shiney release from his Royal Holyness Lord God Steve Jobs.
Hell, I even saw one 'yoof' dressed in a Iphone costume who was first in line in the queue and he kind of had to shuffle (excuse Apple pun) & hop/jump into the shop as his lifesize Iphone costume had no holes for his legs. It just defies belief.
Rant over. Anywho, I'm off to pick up my Saturday shopping from Sainsburys. Now, where is my lifesize Warburtons sliced loaf costume....
Dazmb - reports suggest the Apple Store in Regent Street is the most profitable per square feet of retail space than any other shop in London.
One report said it was making @2000 per square ft - the next highest-ranked electrical retailer was making 722 per sq ft....
Is this the Apple Hypermarket?
Oh I see, swanky & expensive retail real-estate located in Regent Street and now Covent Garden....
And I thought all Apple products were expensive to help pay for the reliable (ahem) high-tech (ahem) products they produced (and Steve's lovely jumpers of course).
Now I know better.
Overheads, overheads, overheads........

Ooooh, that's a hard hit!
