Now available from Onkyo is the UP-DT1, a plug-in DAB radio module designed for use with its current '07 range of receivers. The £130 unit is the second Universal Port module, following the release of the £80 UP-A1 iPod/iPhone dock.

Compatible with the TX-SR507, TX-SR577, TX-SR607, TX-SR-707 and TX-NR807, plus the forthcoming TX-NR1007, TX-NR3007 and TX-NR5007, the UP-DT1 is powered from, and controlled by, the receiver to which it's connected.

It offers DAB/DAB+ reception, comes complete with its own aerial, and has 30 presets to store favourite stations, accessible using the receiver remote and shown on the receiver's display.

An additional port on the rear of the unit allows further UP modules to be daisychained if required, and Onkyo says it will be providing Universal Port connections on a wider range of products, including micro systems, in the near future.
