CES 2009: New Blu-ray players from Panasonic, including world's first portable

We've managed to unearth more details of Panasonic's Blu-ray player line-up for 2009. There will be three standalone models, and the world's first portable Blu-ray player, plus two new BD home cinema systems.
The three standalone models are the DMP-BD60 (pictured), the DMP-BD80 and the DMP-BD70V.
All three will support Viera Cast, enabling them to connect to the web, and later this year customers in the US will be able to view up to 40,000 video-on-demand titles from Amazon through their Panasonic Viera TV or Blu-ray player, as announced yesterday.
Another first is Panasonic's portable Blu-ray model, which supports Full HD 1080p video, and can connect via its Ethernet connection to BD Live content and Viera Cast.
Completing the Blu-ray line-up for 2009 are two new Blu-ray home cinema in a box systems, the Panasonic BT200 and BT300.
We've contacted Panasonic's UK PR dept for information on UK pricing and release dates. We'll let you know the answer as soon as we have it.

Andrew - apologies, i mis-read the LG news. I now see they have a Blu-ray player with wireless too.
Let's hope this starts a trend.
higgy - i'm with you totally. With all the WiFi around, TV's included, why on earth are there no quick adopters to WiFi Blu-Ray players.
I bought an HD player last Jan when my old DVD died a sudden death mainly because Blu wasn't finished, thinking they'd quickly adopt WiFi. Now i'm thinking it's not even been thought about - have they not heard of PS3 or Nintendo!
See the LG Blu-ray story in News, higgy...
haha! Sorry, just my lil credit crunch reference. Funny wasnt it? What else has led you to ask that?
I'm actually really excited as ive been mulling over the BD35 for ages but now i can get one of the new ones.
Incidentally, when it comes to reviews, id be over the moon if you'd mention the boot times
Will we ever see a WiFi profile 2.0 player? Am I the only person who doesn't want ethernet cables trailing around their living room?
Or am I missing something? (probably)
Is this National Cynicism Day?
OK, nobody comment then.
WHOOHOO!
Mind, ill probably find now theyve jacked prices up lol!
