My current setup is a Toshiba 37WLT66s TV, Sony STR-DA1200ES amp, KEF 2005.2 speakers and a Sony RDR-HXD970 DVD player/Recorder. Sky HD, Chord Co 1.3 Silver Plus HDMI's and Silver Anniversary XT speaker cabe

I found the Toshiba 40XF355D TV on the web for £870, so I bought it as it's full HD and had good reviews. My questions are these, if anyone can help.

Should I connect the HDMI leads from the SKY box and DVD recorder via the Sony amp then out to the TV, as I have with the 37WLT66 to date, or directly into the TV HDMI sockets from the sources?

Would I get much of an improvement with an Onkyo TX-SR875 amp and KEF KHT 3005SE speakers?

Lastly, is it worth getting a separate DVD player (upscaler, not Blu Ray or the other HD format) or is the Sony good enough in the setup?

Thanks in advance for anyones advice.
