actually it's not chrome - it's nickel
Craig, wow! Sweet DAC! Serious coin invested there. But, I totally respect your pursuit of great hifi. I'm on the same mission. I'll catch up to you eventually.
Congrats on one gorgeous system. Wish I could hear it....Enjoy...

Cheers jax, this does represent a serious investment for me, but i guess i could have easily spent it on going out drinking etc, and would have nothing to show for it except a bigger belly!
you're not that far off yourself.![]()

The Chord QB is my dream DAC! However, in about three years when I might be able to afford/justify getting one, there will be another piece of beauty for sure. Great system Craig.

aint that the truth!
That is one awesome looking DAC!
Amp doesn't look too shabby either ![]()
Great photos also, be good to see one from the listening position, even though the close ups look excellent!
aaah, mr bond - i've been expecting you....
i'm waiting for a new wide angle lens, might post a shot then.
in the mean time if anyone's interested, this helps explain what makes the qbd76 tick!
Craig M.:
MUSICRAFT:Hi Craig M.
The system is looking good.
You should have come to uncle Rick sooner!
Btw, you are quite there yet as there is the matching and truly outstanding Chord Electronics Blu transport. You've not quite heard what the QBD76 is truly capable of. The Blu unleashes the performance potential of the QBD76 in an instant and magnificent manner helping it close the gap to the Red Reference MK2 cdp. Imo the Blu (in conjunction with the QBD76) is worth every penny of the £5k asking price.
Only listen to the Blu if you are feeling brave.
Thanks for your support.
All the best
Rick @ Musicraft
ha, you might be right Uncle Rick! would have saved some money!
i think it might be best if i never hear the blu transport then....

Hi Craig M.
I think it will be very healthy for you to listen to the Blu transport.
Go on i dare you. ![]()
Thanks for your support.

Looking really good. I really like that amp too.
Craig M.:
MUSICRAFT:plastic penguin:Gorgeous looking system, Craig. The only problem I can see is you will probably have to wear white gloves? I can almost see the finger marks. Nevertherless, well worth it.....Hi plastic penguin
Funnily enough Chord Electronics supply white gloves for the premium Jet black and Brilliant silver finishes.
When Craig M. picked up his QBD76 from my shop he said that he might do some Michael Jackson impressions. I hope he'll put up a picture or two with the gloves on.
Thanks
Rick @ Musicraft
i can't believe you put that on here!

Hi Craig M.
Don't mention it.
Consider it on the house. ![]()
Thanks for your support.

Craig what wide angle lens are you getting ? Also what do you shoot with ? Looking at the pics, I'd hazard a guess at Nikon.

waiting on a replacement nikkor 14-24 f2.8 after mine was trashed while working (don't ask). work camera is d2x, but used an old d70 for these shots.

Oh to be one of the super rich!
I see how your Chord works now with buffering to remove jitter.I will wait for the technology to filter down to under £500ish.
Internet - laptop - DAC - amp - lots of headphones.
