Yes I agree... I have the centre on some isolation feet at the moment and it seems to have helped as well as bringing it to the very front of the cabinet as previously it was set back a little...

I've found that Granite Worktop Savers resting on Sorbothane feet work well....as would an Auralex Gramma.

Can the Sub be turned through 90 deg (and brought forward a little), so it 's firing forward / backwards?......and the EQ would take care of the rest.

Yes I can unscrew the base and rotate it 90 degrees according to the manual so as I can change the orientation of the drive units and still see/use the display and options... I will need my trusty helper for this as it's a little on the heavy side :O

I will give it all it's first full length feature workout tonight and see what happens... Just need to get down to my not so local now Blockbuster

Wow, you posted photos for us before even watching a film, that's what I call dedication to the cause!

All your persistence has now paid dividends, it would seem.  :shifty:

Thanks mate... Smile

The AV888 does have an EQ which I use sometimes for movie watching... although I haven't re run since getting the new additions so must get round to it... also the DB1 does have room compensation software which I have engaged... I have found that trial and error with an spl meter and different positioning works well too...

How do you find stereo playback, in particular do you have any problem with the speaker being so close to the sidewall? Just wondering as my speakers could do with being further apart but that would mean being close to the side wall.

I'm surprised no one has suggested centring the low unit, bringing the fronts in a little and moving the sub. Having written this, please dont think I dont recognise a great system in a very lovely room environment. Great job.

Yamaha V2065. MS Mezzo 5.1 Panasonic 42. Sony BD. Garrard 86SB. WD Live TV. SkyHD.

For me I find 2 cannel a revelation... I do have added flexibility with the KEF's as they have high and low frequency adjustment and are not rear ported...

I have found that a little "toe in" works in my situation...

Cheers

Cheers buddy... Smile

The low unit is actually centred... where the Oppo sits is part of the stand that used to be on top of one end of the unit... If that makes any sense

The left and right speakers are 3.0m apart (1.5m from centre point respectively)... I am looking to try out some different positions for the DB1 in the mean time...

Sorry Clinton,i thought your arcam was a stereo amp

I'd be interested to know if the 105 sounds better doing the processing for film sountracks (as opposed to your arcam)on your reference system

FWIW. Run the Sub's EQ before running that of Arcam...ie. when you have found the Sub's final position.

No worries mate...

I have to be honest I have only used the analogue out for 2 channel (cd playback) and not surround... FWIW I love the sound from using hdmi into the Arcam... It's epic

Still not there yet... :wall:...

Yes I will certainly get the sub all setup prior to running the Arcam EQ... Do you use your EQ at all out of interest?

I did originally, but when I added the 35i through the Pre-Outs, I couldn't get it to work.

I may go back to using it, if I get R100s to cope with L&R through the AVR600.
