RickyDeg's sleek system with Monitor Audio Apex
Thanks for the Audyssay link..I`ll have a good read through...
In regard to the Remote - I`ll seriously consider one of them in that case...And this time I`ll have the full support of my wifey ( I hope ) , as all those black wafers on the coffe-table are driving her nuts
HaHa!
Dare I say the wifey will be loving it? My syster and her fam actually got one of these themselves a month ago on my suggestion and they fell inlove with it aswell. She finally listens to what I have to say now! hehe
Fantastic... I hope it works like that in my case too... If the ladies feel so relieved after having one, I might even consider it as her birthday present , instead of the usual handbag or a perfume etc.....Urrr, NO , I don`t think that`ll work
Arrrgh! Tinypic keeps on deleting my photos I placed in the original post!
Most irritating!

And there is still no 'edit-function' on here for original posts!
Seems it would be alot of work to integrate the height speakers! Apex-nirvana!
But I'm sure it will look and sound really really nice! (like it already does)
Yeah, cables integrated in the frontwall will be a nice challenge, but worth it I'm sure. Just had a few demo's of DTS Neo:X the past few days and it was very impressive with a variety of movies. I'm sure it will add additional spaciousness in my listeningroom.
Ricky have you tried switching the feet of the AW12 subwoofer? I know you like higher quality spikes/isolation. We were talking about that at home yesterday for our sub to see if we could add a bit more "firmness" to the bass!??

Good question! I did replace the standard feet on the AW-12 just recently actually, to great results. I now have 3 x Nordost Pulsar Points placed underneath it instead, and the bass plays firmer, which is nice. Isolating ones subwoofer is essential, I think, and I will continue to experiment. That said, the mounted standard feet on this sub are no match for dedicated spikes or isolation feet of high quality. So if you get the chance - try something else on yours!
How are the floorstands for the A10's?
How are the floorstands for the A10's?
Well, their design is a little odd (for my personal taste) but buildquality is top-notch. They are extremely heavy and sturdy, but the best part is the convenience of the speakerconnection located at the back of the foot. That makes installation very simple (hence, its threaded inside the stand). I'd rather have gone for a more handsome and sleek design myself, but it'll suffice for now. And, although convenient, I'm not the biggest fan of it being threaded with a no-clue cable inside the stand, as the speaker is essentially being fed the signal through two different types of cables.
Are you planning on getting these yourself?
Lovely looking system,very smart.....an insparation!!

Lovely comment! Thank you!
Very sleek.. very nice. I can imagine how much effort has gone into making it look like this! Regarding the Denon, I guess the new crop of electronics are trying to go high frequency heavy. I have tried almost all the models of Yamaha & Onkyo to buy the Marantz 6006 but this is all still nothing when compared to the Denon 3808. I guess pre xx10 Denon AVRs are superb in SQ and though today's crop has better features the natural warmth & sweetness is missing.
BTW.. what is the stand lamp in the corner? Make or model - My wife is interested in it!

Warm thanks for the compliments! And you are correct - it did take some effort indeed, hehe. But effort is worth is when it pays off, no?
It's very interesting to hear you mention your experience with the latest breed of receivers compared to slightly older models, among them my 3808. I've heard dealers I trust unwillingly say (whisper) similar things, hinting that so much 'stuff' is 'stuffed' into recent models often times at the expense of soundquality. I've yet to have any luck finding a replacement in the 5-6 other (more expensive) brands/models I've tested over the last year. Puzzling.
Glad you (and your wife) like the look of the floorstanding lamp. It's the icing on the cake in my livingroom, for sure, and it gives an alluring glow. The model is called "TOKYO" but sadly I bought it at Ellos in Sweden. I think they do business in several other European countries but not sure.

Yup! Totally worth it

Exactly. The modern breed AVR focus is on featureset than SQ as the first one is easier to quantify. Sadly people buy it. When there is not a single display (in affordable range) at 4K resolution nor the content, the differentiation for this year's AVR is 4K support and ability to upsample to 4K. I wish they take away that budget and give it to SQ. That is why I like the take of Audiolab or Classe they they do no Video Processing. Why should my AVR work so hard when it does not even know what my TV can or can not do where as the TV natively should do all video processing upscaling as it will be correctly tuned to that particular set
