New Speakers - Mezzo 8's System C.

Wow, that looks so much better to me... The Mezzo 8 are a good lookers, that`s for sure... Could you post a photo of the satellites - it will be nice to see them too. I am kind of interested of your opinion about the Sub, and also how does that center feels in the cabinet ?

Hya atanataka. Thanks - the rears are the same as your Mezzo 1's also on very similar Atacama stands. I am pleased with the sub despite some reviews being less positive. The controls are great for equalization and it goes deep. Clearer audio mains needed a file because of MS connection but worked out. No rear ports help I recon for positioning especially centre which sounds fine inside the cabinet. Still running in but not sure what difference it makes. Mordaunt Short and Clearer Audio have given excellent service/support. Yamaha have also been good. Sorry but I like to commend good service when due. Cheers.

You find yourself enjoying them more with the grilles on or off?

Hya Ricky. On or off seems to make no difference but they look good off. They disappear with the grilles off better than my last set of speakers which seemed too 'stark' somehow.

They are a nice design and my partner approves!

Any suggestions for room treatment or tweaking appreciated.

With regards to the Sub - the reasons I didn`t buy Mezzo 9 were, that according to the reviews it was way to powerful to use in a flat with neighbors downstairs...and of course it was too dear to buy as a separate unit ( £ 799 , and I was buying the units in stages, not as you did as a complete system , which moneywise is the best...). Now it is 200 cheaper and I am kind of tempted as I love the way it looks...But  my present  one does exceptional job for the money , and I`ll probably skip it for now...

I had a great experience with MS too - and would recommend them to anyone. And I think their new web-site is great. Loads of tips about speaker positioning and cabling there BTW...Take a look if you haven`t done it yet

Funny about Sub reviews. WHF seemed to say underpowered. Others excellent. I certainly find it deep and tight. One reason for purchase was no rear ports. Another the 60 day trial. My only concern now is balance between front channel and others. Too much time on my hands maybe.

From what I had read at the time it has given me the impression that it was ( Mezzo 9 ) very ,very powerful ...

60-days trial , with free delivery AND collection in case you`re not happy, is a great deal by my book.

Use the Auto Set-Up for the speakers,and run it again and again if you are changing their positions .With the time  you`ll certainly get the right balance , even if you have to Manually adjust some of the levels , as I do... The Audyssay does a very fine job , indeed, but I am always tweaking a bit the center`s and sub`s levels. It usually takes me 5 sec. in the beginning of the film,anyway
