My new set up - Mk2
Lost the pic Lol
Looks great!
All I need is a glimpse of yellow Kevlar and I'm sold.
Yea I know. I need to master the camera as well lol The kevlar looks better in the flesh
Anyone got any ideas for hiding the cables behind the Sky box?
Nice system. Have you thought of cable tidy? Like your rack too.
Thanks F1only - Rack is from Stands Unique with an extra shelf so that I can keep all the kit below the speaker.
Cable tidy - Thanks I'll have a look. The cables I want to hide behind there are very unflexable ie. Wireworld mains, Merlin Terantula, Chord Hdmi etc etc.
I was wondering about trying to find a piece of black glass (so no fire risk) cut to fit with a 2" or 3" slot along the bottom to allow the cables into the Sky box. Just an idea but not found the glass to do it......
The cable tidy then may not be suitable then, unless maybe you can get hold of a nice thick one its probably the cheapest option. You could go to a glass or windows shop & get one made up i would think to your specifications. I had a glass cabinet made up for my f1 models made by a local glass company a few years ago now & it cost me £100
Very nice! ![]()
Whatever you use to cover the wires at the back I would consider making it white so that it seems you are looking through to the wall behind.
Ah now that's a good idea about the colour
You're correct it would look better if I matched the wall colour.
Found a local company who make and cut glass for kitchen splash backs, plasma/lcd/led tvs etc. They have asked for the measurements. Got a choice of about 30 + colours. So will measure up and get a price.
Can't think it's going to be much for such a small piece to fit behind the Sky box. The cabling is an issue here because I have to have the Isotek on an upper shelf hence all the mains cables appear.
Ikea do a cheap and thick cable management roll.....
Meant to say a nice system too!!! Sorry. What about widening the front pair and moving the sub in beside the rack. Maybe walls/doors there??
As per every set up there always has to be a compromise. TV is set up for the best seats in the house, so everything has to fit around that. Just glad there is no fireplace as it would have to be filled in.
To the left is the wall at right angles. So I'd rather have a sub in the corner than a main speaker. So sub is angled out to minimise any adverse effects from the corner and the settings changed to corner set up. Which is why I didn't get the PV1 sub as this may have caused issues.
Slight toe in on the mains produces a good stereo effect with the sub kicking in for all sources.
When I next move I'll be buying a house to fit my Hifi (I hope)........not the other way around lol.
Got a quote for piece of glass with a cut out to allow the cables through to the sky box painted to match the wall colour. They can match any colour.
£150 incl vat. I'm happy with that
So couple of weeks to make and I'll post a new picture ![]()
