Damn - cant help myself. A little room treatment needed? Nice looking room tho.

Now fill it with acres of foam sheet; Rockwool & softies Smile

Cheers

RE: My Living room system

Many thanks, not had a chance to photograph the rears yet as they have only just arrived and i am experimenting with position, will take some photos soon.

Re the room treatment there I don't think that would go town to well with the other half. I understand that it is not ideal, however there is a rug out of shot and soft cushions on the sofas to try to help soften the room.

Yup. Know what u mean. Check my links but my OH was well pleased with the results of my efforts on taming the bass. How much time do u spend in total darkness?  Smile

What made you decide on the rears that you opted for and not B&W rears?

RE: My Living room system

Re the rears, I did not have room for stand-mounts (more cm1s) as I have limited space behind my seating position due to the problem of my listening position being a little in front of a bay window so was keen to utilize the flexibility of the tripoles when it comes to positioning. Plus I managed to get them for a very good price which made the decision easier.

I am currently experimenting, by using them similar to column surrounds firing upwards behind my seating position to good effect so far, still early days though.

Each to his own. I really wouldn't want to sit looking at that while listening to music, and wonder how it sounds with all those hard reflective surfaces.

I wonder too but looking at that seems a fine way to listen to music - barring a full live show of 10cc maybe? Smile

RE: My Living room system

I find it really neat and I am sure it sounds lovely .The good thing is that there is a room for improvement acoustic-wise . As you said there is a rug about . You could add another matching-one , or just replace it with a bigger one. Don`t think your other half would mind about it. They love the rugs, don`t they... The speakers look the deal on those stands. Well done to you...

Really like this.  Very attractive room.

A rug would probably make it sound even better.

I'm a fan of the CM line.  Well done!

Good job!  Looks like the altar of hifi/movies!

Are matching rears so important unless you're listening to SACD mutlichannel or DVD-A?

Much better to keep the OH happy.

RE: My Living room system

Thank you for the kind comments. A new larger rug is on the agenda, its our first place so we don't have alot of soft furnishings yet (very much a work in progress).

Re the rear speakers I don't listen to any multichannel music so cannot comment, however for movies I find the MK tripoles at the rear are absolutely fantastic so far and a huge improvement over the jamo satellites they have replaced. they seem to blend into the rest of the set up very well.

RE: My Living room system

Oh, loves it! good job Those B&W's are stunning looking speakers! Nice installation of your TV!

I'm all for that clean neat look myself. Acoustically it might need some assistance (just like my room does) but the look is wonderful. Have you experimented any with angling the front L/R?
