Sounds great.  If it's your dream, it seems very attainable to me.  I mean if you truly dream about this system.  Like this would just bring you years of joy, then life's too short.  Get a loan and just buy it! Buy it tomorrow!  Do it!

Music Server -> Wyred4Sound DAC2SE -> PrimaLuna Prologue -> Wyred4Sound ST1000 mkii -> PMC Fact 8

Re: my DREAM system. oh, maybe one day...

Well, phase II is underway: New TV instead of the old one, bluray player instead of DVD. Great picture and sound from BD. Bluray actually gives decent CD sound via its own stereo out, I prefer it to digital-to-amp.

The number of boxes is going down (down to two shelves now) but the sound quality is going up (so far).

The main stereo now is a WinXP netbook (not in the pic) playing via usb to Chordette Gem. The sound is fantastic. I could not beleive the improvement compared to ipod-amp and even to CD-amp. Next step will be a dedicated MacMini.

The big question is how much improvement would the Grace m902 and ATC SCM 50 actives will bring? Lining up some demos at the moment. Exciting times are coming. Big Smile

Looks great but wondering if it would sound a little better with the speakers toed out a little more. They won't line up with the wall but should move the sweet spot back closer to the listening position.

Thanks, I found this positon works well and they are not fussy about position.

Re: my DREAM system. oh, maybe one day...

So far managed to get the Grace m902 for a demo from the UK distributor. The objective was to line it up for a side by side comparison with Benchmark HDR and ATCs, but the dealer cannot get hold of the HDR up to now Sad. So I only managed to demo the Grace at home with the current set-up. And in comparison with Chordette Gem.

Impressions on the Grace: Excellent build and functionality. Yes Only small exception to this is that hte balanced version only has balanced out (you loose RCA), while eg.g Benchmark has both. Looks good to my taste. High quality of sound but not as good as the Gem. They do sound different. I found Gem is warmer and a bit more dynamic throughout the range, which I prefer. Note I was only able to compare on 16/44 material, not on higher resolutions.

Interestingly, I could not get the remote codes to work on the Grace even with help from Remotecentral forums and Grace.

I have returned the demo unit by now, still hoping for a now separate demo of Benchmark HDR + ATCs.

In the meantime, the 500gig MacMini is on order - the first shipment went lost Sad so wating for the second one...

Not really heard of Grace. I suspect the Benchmark would have the higher resale value. Worth bearing in mind?
