Modest system due for an upgrade

Hi my system is as follows:

Yamaha AX759SE Amplifier

Pioneer PD-207 Cd Player

Gale G20 Standmount Speakers

Gale Centre 10 Speaker

Eltax Liberty Rear Bipolar Speakers

QED Silver Anniversary all round.

Atacama Equinox Stand

Hifi

Equipment rack and amp were added in the last 12 months.  Now looking for new front speakers and a new CD player.

As you can see, my set up is in the alcove of a room that's around 3m square.  Speakers are tucked in as any further out and they take up too much room.  Would front firing Kef IQ5s be the best fit here to increase sound quality without the risk of wooly bass?

To be honest, I wouldn't upgrade the audio at the moment as the positioning is too compromised. Any better kit would show this compromise up further, in my opinion. Perhaps the best upgrade would be a wall mounted telly above the fire with the speakers either side and the front below the telly. Then put the rack in the corner where the telly was. This would then give you more space and there will be potential benefits from future hi fi upgrades too
