Just purchased a samsumg 32 " r88 LCD

Wondered if anyone has any tips to get a better picture through a normal sky + box I have just upgraded to this tv and to be honest the the last one I had a LOGIK !! is better , can't be right. I've used the THX setup for my DVD's and thats great but this can't be used for normal sky broadcasts? The picture i get is grainy at times and any people/objects have a shadow around them. I'am ordering a QED scart lead which should help but anything else would be most appreciated.
