Since 1998 I have been running an Arcam Alpha 9 CD player with an Audiolab 8000A AMP through B&W CDM2 speakers and Chord interconnects. The Arcam has started jumping so I'm looking to buy a new CD player and am looking at the Cambridge Audio Azur 650C, can anyone tell me how well this will run with the Audiolab and B&W speakers or would I be better off selling the AMP and buying the matching Cambridge Audio 650A AMP. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums Nige Brown. I would post this question in the dedicated 'Hi-Fi' section of the forums and I'm sure you will get the help you require. This area is more for discussing your system and posting pics of it etc.

Re: Help with new set up

If you love the sound of 8000A, just stick with it, it could be a bit aging. 650C is a fine player but if you would like to play compressed formats such as wma, mp3, wav, perhaps you should consider Marantz CD6300. It does play normal cds as well with excellence sound at its value. In addition, ipod can also be linked with this player. Next, if you like a bit more of dynamic and extension in the soundstage, consider to replace your 8000A with 8000S or the latest 8200A.
