Hear's my basic set-up

Below is my old Garrard B20

Got rather more photos og little'un on the speakers. Not advisable.
Apologies no show home but with kiddiewinks around, as most parents know, ain't easy.
I'm off to the pub.
looks good to me,but i bet it sounds even better
And Barnes Wallis on the TV. (Who else ?)
Well done with the pics and the system
Btw, next purchase should be a blu ray player, the Dambusters blu ray is absolutely stunning
Thanks chaps.
What is a little different to most other set-ups is there's [practically] direct link back to my first ever system. I suppose it's a hi-fi family tree of sorts.
Very nice PP.
a cherished heritage
Very nice setup you have there PP,
I can imagine it's nice to spend some quality time kicking back and relaxing to it (when the kids allow).
Long time no read, Gareth...
Yes, it is lovely just to sit and listen, unfortunately this doesn't generally happen until little'un's in bed. The major reason for having a system that sounds good at low levels.
Hey PP, yes i haven't been on the forums for a long time, i started started a new job a couple of months ago and with the youngest being 6 months now i haven't had much free time lately. I'm very happy with the Onkyo amp and HTPC i have just built, i will be on the hunt soon for a universal player for Blu Ray, CD playback etc.
I noticed that you still haven't settled on a streamer, have you decided to stick with Vinyl and CD for now or are you still testing streamers out?

No, the streamer is on hold until further notice. I recently had a home dem of a Rega Apollo CDP and was impressed. However, the extra detail and insight revealed my RS6s were found wanting with certain styles of music. So I'll concentrate on speakers first and then source. TBH though, in isolation there's nothing wrong with my system 'as is'. I'm looking at compact floorstanders, so it's narrowed down to Totem Arro or Leema's own Xones. That said, I'm in no immediate rush...
Nice hifi pp. I only listen in evenings myself but requires moving stands and speakers at the moment as too risky with littleun being only 2 1/2 years old.
Makes a nice change to see a real life setup.

PS shame we can't share listening to each others systems as well as seeing them right?
Looks good pp! Know what you mean about the little ones, I frequently find unexplained fingerprints on the Kuro and my AV cabinet is badly dented...
Still, when I finally decide the speakers need upgrading, I may need to slip them a tenner to have a tragic accident >) otherwise I think mrs. Scene will make me use them forever...

Yup, sounds wonderful. Hard to describe but it has a 'Old Skool' sound to it. It has excellent detail and clarity but there's no hint of sibilance or shrill to the presentation. One reason, I suppose, why I'm a little reluctant to tamper with the set-up.

PP, that all looks the business, and gives a nice homely impression.....extra brownie points awarded for the WHF mags.
Your concerns about putting your system up for public perusal are unfounded.
