WASAPI playback via Windows 8

Hi. I was wondering what the general reaction amongst audiophiles was to the audio quality of the mixer-bypass WASAPI driver in w8. I've been listening to CD and 128/256 streaming radio for the last week using Foobar 2000 1.1.13 and I've decided that the sound quality is staggering. I mean, it's just perfect. This method of listening has me seriously reconsidering my future equipment. I'd welcome any comments.
