Unfortunately its a browser-based shortcut rather than a fully featured app.

It's about time there was some form of iplayer.

No iPlayer would have been a deal breaker for those curious in Windows, but afraid to take the plunge.

Yes, it's a browser based app, but as long as it does what it says on the tin, that's fine with me. It looks quite slick. It is however missing off-line features.

It wouldn't surprise me if many more apps start to go down the browser based route. It's going to be much more cost effective rather than having to maintain apps for different platforms. It was fine when it was just iOS, then android and it's differering version, now WP8, next BB10 will be in on the game. How long is an organisation going to want to invest in the effort of all the different OS's
