I wonder if.....

With Microsoft bringing out it's new Surface tablet and new OS I wonder whether it will soon be possible to have a windows PC unit "fully operated & controled" from the Surface tablet without having a separate Monitor, keyboard and mouse?

It's something that has been high on my wish list for some time.  I know there are a few apps that allow some control from a tablet (to be honest, I haven't looked too hard into this; and correct me if I'm wrong) but from the comments I've seen they don't seem to work very well.
