Squeezebox Boom - able to receive BBC radio via www??

Contemplating a Squeezebox Boom for the kitchen. Can it receive the BBC's radio stations via BBC.co.uk? Also, how effective is the Squeezebox's wifi signal - could it penetrate the 2ft-thick brick wall that separates the kitchen from my router's locale? Thanks [:)]
