Hi yesterday i tried to set up a wireless connection for my wifes laptop to our desk top now i seem to have disconnected out talk talk connection completely and am now connected to an unidentified network, can someone tell me what ive done wrong? ?? Thanks guys
Hi thanks for reply but thats the problem im having i dont know how to reconnect to talk talk
Ok, give me more details. Which desktop & laptop have you got? Windows 7? And what exactly were you trying to do, when you lost the connection?
Ok i have a hp desk top running windows vista and i was trying to set up a wireless network for my wifes laptop. When that didnt work i plugged my router into my wifes laptop which worked fine then plugged router back into desktop only to find no connection. Maybe ive clicked on something on the desktop which has disabled the internet connection. Many thanks biggboss for taking the time to help me.
Ok, let me get this right. Is your router connected to your desktop via Ethernet cable? And yet there is no Internet connection? Have you checked all cables, power etc.?
Sounds like there is an IP address conflict-an unknown network is quite often a sign of that- turn off your laptop, reboot the router and switch on your laptop(what router is it by the way?)
My router is an hgb 520 or something i think and connected via ethernet cable
Why not go through this routine to make sure it is set up correctly
As far as i know its all set up correctly because it was all working fine yesterday. As far as the talk talk routine is concerned i cant get on the internet to do that and when i did the quick start icon didnt come up so i couldnt follow it through

"Forget" the unidentified network & reconnect to TalkTalk.
