My new birthday pressie - well chuffed with it.

It seems to get quite hot ? Is this natural ?

And does it eat alot of electricity if I do leave it plugged in ?

Until someone advises me differently, I shall keep un-plugging it for now when not in use.

Doesnt exactly advise wether to or not to in the manual ( not that I have exactly studied it so may well be wrong ).

Got mine about 9 months ago; it has only been unplugged once and had no problems with it! It gets a little warm but nothing to worry about. Very happy with my AE!

I only unplug mine when it has a little flashing orange light...

Keep mine on all the time. Yes, it gets a bit warm, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.

It does get a bit warm but I don't think there are any issues with that. No issues reported on the Apple Discussion forums. It doesn't have any moving parts, so there can't go lot wrong with it.

Power usage (when not streaming) is about 2W.

I switch mine off when not in use for the same reasons as you mention. But it doesn't take long to connect anyway. Probably depends how often you use it. At the moment, I'm only using mine at the weekends during the day (too cold in the conservatory in the evenings), so I don't mind waiting a minute or so for it to connect.

I turn mine off when not in use. The same goes for hifi, computer, TV, Sky etc - nothing left on overnight.
