...Finally! Revo IKON - £290. Yeigh or neigh?
Anybody had hands-on experience of this little gadget yet? There was a rather large delay in the release, but it appears to be in stock from some online retailers. However, there are no official reviews that I can find.
I'm interested to see how it compares to the Avanti Flow and the Sonos S5... Anyone?
I know what it looks like!
How does it stack up against other contenders?
I got one just before Xmas direct from Revo. It had a problem with crashing due to media sharing software on my PC! but that's all fixed now with an over-the-air software update. Neat.

Overall I'd say yay as a kitchen device, but it's not suitable for bedside (too bright and PSU makes humming noise) or as a party sound system (mashes sounds together at high volume). In which case £290 is very steep, but the ease of use and staggering choice of music makes it worth it.

Is What Hi Fi going to review the Revo Ikon soon?

I second that
does the Avanti Flow support streaming from a NAS? I plan on buying a NAS with an itunes server amongst other things...

if you're looking for a dab/internet radio that also streams your music collection from a NAS, its worth looking at the roberts stream 83i too, I got one at the weekend, and I'm chuffed to bits with the sound and ease of use!
I cannot say how it compares to the other products you mention but I bought an Ikon earlier this year and have been very happy with it.
The power supply had a buzz but I contacted Revo who sent me a new one which is silent. We use it for sounds in our conservatory.
Stream audio from our QNAP NAS using Twonkymedia - needed very little setup and all music in iTunes format. The Ikon simply just found the server and started to play it.
Audio quality is not as good as a separates but perfectly listenable to. Id agree though that the display is too bright for bedside use.
hope this helps

Nice little product nicely priced... http://www.revo.co.uk/digital-radio/revo-ikon.php
I wonder if I didn't make a mistake buying all that Sonos gear make, lol.
The Sonos S5 sounds very good though, not hi-fi, but excellent "mid-fi" room-filling sound (especially when fed lossless files). And extremely easy to set up, upgrade, etc.
