Cheaper Pioneer Bluray Player

Does any one know when Pioneer may bring out a cheaper Bluray player please. Does any one know how to put forward the additional benifits i would get from the £1000 unit over say the new Panasonic Bluray player (is it really worth 3 times the sale price) Sorry because I know WHFS&V are doing the review in a few days but perhaps some of you at home have had home tests from your local dealers.
