All I hear is radio Sonos... Won't this work... Wireless
Here's what I want to do...
second set of speakers...no wires
DAB/Internet radio/stored music .... no wires
All I ever see is massively expensive solutions.
I've phoned a couple of shops... wireless speakers and receiving.. God manufacturers wake up.. It's the 21st cent...
Some guy was rambling on about 801.11n.. hell it ain't even signed off yet and as for transmitters for hand helds... I don't think so....
Yes there's the Onkyo UWL1 (Wireless audio sender)

(sorry don't know how to do links)
. but that means I need a Dongle transmitter.... On my pda.. i don't think so.
Here's my solution.. be my guest to pull it apart.
Nokia N770 or N800 series.. receives via wifi...
Broadcasts bluetooth..
Sony blue tooth receiver MBR-100. (testing this set up this week) God, how hot is this product! 30 quid!

Right that's the media sorted. Yes?
Speakers... 2 more MBR-100 receivers..connetected via banana plugs to second set or speakers..
Bluetooth transmitter, connected to Channel B on Denon 700AE.. (nice and shiny, brand new.. Sent the Creek Evo back....No tone controls, nor balance.. plus another nifty for a phono board.. (the more you pay the less you get), but..not suitable for my needs. Okay, okay another league perhaps and what a hopeless remote, how are you supposed to press those buttons? )
Both the second set of receivers set to the same channel..
Theory sounds okay... Any thoughts?
Not hifi enough. That lot?
The MBR-100 - it'll not have any amplification in it so how is it gonna power some speakers? Surely it just recieves the bluetooth signal from your phone/pda and puts it into the amp at line-level? So you'd need an amp, and some speaker cables to the speakers (unless you use active speakers which still need cables for power etc.).
All this just to run some music off your PDA?
I think I've learnt the error of my ways with the thoughts about a second set of speakers, operated wirelessly..
Yep, they'll be no amplification through them.. What a plonker.
Who does want another 100 foot run of cable though?
It's a bit more than a PDA. It's basically an ultra mobile pc...
Nokia n800 maybe upgraded to n810.
So it's wifi in and streamed radio out to the HIFI... via the bluetooth receiver..
This is a man who's just sent a Creek amp back and replaced it with a Denon...
I'm just sick of having to plug my laptop to the amp..
Thanks for clearing the fug in my head there though... It's only going to get more complicated as time goes on, me thinks...

Isn't bluetooth very low bandwidth indeed? Will you be able to get enough information across a bluetooth connection?
