I was wondering if the aftermarket antennas for wireless network cards actually give improved performance? Anyone got any experience and recommendations? I found these on eBay but not sure if they are any good:

I have three PCs with Netgear WPN311 network cards.

Many thanks!

Re: Aftermarket Antennas

well i bought the one in your second link to replace the one on my router ,as when i was using my laptop in my bedroom which is a loft conversion (and the router is on the ground floor) i used to get really weak signal and drop outs but since changing it no drop outs and signal is upto 4 bars

have to say i was dubious as to whether they'd make any difference, but at that price i took a punt and was pleasently surprised

Great. I wonder if they work as well when fitted to the wireless network cards. My Netgear DG834PN router has internal antennas and you can't connect an external one. I also find this but its alot more expensive:

It got some good reviews on Amazon in the States:

By the way how long is that one you bought from eBay?

Cheers!

Re: Aftermarket Antennas

dont see why it would't work attached to the network card i think that's what they're intended for tbh. but i had the opposite scenario to you... my laptop has an internal antenna and the router an external one

btw it has an overall length of 8 inches
