If you like this check out the live album Alive 2007. It's one of the best DJ sets ever produced IMO. Dirol

My own Joe Cocker compilation. Dirol

I've just bought every single Joe Cocker album and now I'm steadily working my way through each one picking out all of the best tracks that I want to keep.

Jupiter and Mars sound fantastic but I could never quite get into the rest of the planets.

CD arrived this morning :cheer:

Def' a grower  Dirol

Good to hear it in 16/44 as opposed to iTunes AAC 256.

But... disappointing it has all-too typical, contemporary levels of compression - ie, much  :shame:

Just seen the vinyl release (via Amazon) is delayed till about the 25th. When it arrives, hope it's better sound than the CD Smile

Started getting in the mood with Heathen yesterday.

...

TBH, the CD's sound isn't that bad - not talking Metallica levels of compression / loudness - it's pretty good overall, but it is frustrating that The Next Day could sound even better if it had compression that lets the dynamic-range 'breathe' - eg, al la the 1998 remasters or the revamped Stage and David Live CDs (2005).
