Will 24fps work on my TV - Sony 40W2000

Hi

If I buy a PS3 will my Full HD Sony play Blu Ray disks at 1080p? I ask as the PS3 sends out 24fps and my Sony doesnt accept it - I think.

So simply my question is does the PS3 'scale' down to different fps as it does resolution.
