'The Beautiful Game'... and motion... best TV?
Given a number of factors:
1} I have SKY HD (mainly for footy and rugby) but little interest in a HD-DVD or Blueray player and also watch a lot of SD telly.
2} Sit 10 feet away from screen.
3} Have a max budget of £850 (please take into account online prices, rather than RRP)
4} Have a decent Toshiba 32WLT58 with good cabling but frustrated by motion blur on most sports, even on HD broadcasts. Will be passing it onto my daughter for bedroom.
Recommended upgrade?
Thanks Clare!
That was certainly on my shortlist and now just waiting for the cheque to clear!
Cheers.
Jason
I'd opt for the Panasonic TH-37PX70, 37in plasma winner of the Supertest in our current, August issue.
It's 'only' HD ready, but performed better with SD, HD and Full HD content than any other in the test, and excelled with motion. List price is £1000 but you can easily pick it up for your £850 budget.
Hi Clare,
Just a quick follow-on:
It seems I can get the 42 inch version for an extra £50.. Would this be worth it or would you consider my viewing distance too close?
Regards
Jason
Wow, now there is a bargain - the 42in is a superb set.
Up to you whether you want a bigger set, but you could end up with the screen dominating the room. Definitely worth getting yourself in front of the sets in question to judge whether that's a size too far, plus reading our advice on
How to choose the right size of TV
Happy viewing!
