Sony KDL 40" lcd

Can anyone advise me if it is worth spending the extra on a newer model or save some money and buy an older one. This will be the first lCD television I have purchased. any money saved on an older modeI would put towards

Look at the SONY KDL-40D3000 just out last month. Up to date 1.3 HDMI connectivity and, in my humble opinion, what a picture-Sound is average but certainly not bad. You can by this for about £900. SONY shops are selling for £1,299 inc a 5 year warranty but it's a hefty premium to pay.It's also a very beautiful looking TV which would look great wall mounted over a mantlepiece. Also in my opinion Standard Definition TV looks great on it to given it's 1366 X 768 resolution as opposed to full 1920 X 1080
