Having a new Panasonic TX P42 ST 50 delivered tomorrow and would appreciate any advice on running in and picture settings. Room is moderately lit.

On a side note got this after bad back light bleed on 2 Sony HX753's (40"). Great picture most of the time but looking forward to my first Plasma.

Thank You in advance.

RE: Settings for new Panasonic TX P42 st50

I recently had an engineer calibrate 8 x 42st50s purchaced for use at work. Straight out the box, calibration in 'normal' mode was very good and minimal fine adjustment was needed - something you would not be able to do without a decent colour probe anyway.

I'd stick to the 'normal' mode and turn off all the processing (IFC,etc) except pixel orbiter - which helps avoid image retention.

Other than that just adjust the brightness level as this tracks pretty well provided you dont go to the extremes.
