Re: HOW TO... Choose the right size of TV
I need some clarification on the recommended sizing given:
I remember from A level physics (or was is GCSE) something about calculating the theoritical maximum angle between two points of light (in that case stars) that could be detected by the human eye. In truth the maximum angle is a lot less than theoretical (actually about 60 arc seconds), and I suspect would mean that at some of the distances here, the difference between 1080 and 720 images would be indistiguishable and probably a waste of money.
I did some research and found the following bit of information here that was informative but still left me wondering.
I see this sort of advice crop up time and again in the magazine and it bugs me each time I see it. Is there any scientific justification for the distances given, or is this purely a rule of thumb developed from personal observation done by the author?
