Problem with my Pioneer Kuro
Great service slightly ruined by missing a basic check: does the thing work when I've finished
Hope it works out bb...
Exactly. Called them today. They'll come tomorrow to sort it out.
Hello bigboss, has your Pioneer definitely been repaired yet? It was due to be done last week.
Man, that's some signature you've got going on. I've seen shorter threads.

The engineers came today. They thought that the problem was due to a faulty DisplayPort cable! They then proceeded to change it, but couldn't pass the cable properly through the conduit!! They've also damaged the old DisplayPort cable in the process!
They've asked me to contact my installer to do it for them. They would pay for it.
I've sent an email to Sevenoaks.....I hope they can do it before Christmas (although even they may be busy until then). I'v got a load of blu ray discs lined up for the Christmas holidays!!
What are the chances of having 2 problems at the same time??

Hmm, not good. Very much hoping Sevenoaks get something sorted out for you, but not impressed that Pioneer's contractors have left you in this state - I would definintely let them (Pioneer) know about this, because it's not what you'd expect from a premium supplier.
I'll wait for the problem to be sorted before letting Pioneer know. I have not been able to check if the original problem has been corrected or not.
Got a reply from Sevenoaks this morning. They're very busy until Christmas, but will send a non-installer to put the cable from "outside". Sevenoaks also needs the cabinet maker (Neville Johnson) to be present when they'll attempt to run the cable through the conduit. I contacted Neville Johnson who will arrange for one. I think they'll charge for service as well.
This hopefully will be done in January.
And in the meantime you've got no TV? That really isn't good enough, is it?
Surely between Sevenoaks and Pioneer they could come up with a loan screen that you can use in the iterim.
Being attentive and responsive is only part of good service.
Best of luck.
This is terrible, really sorry to hear about your problems BB
The frustrating thing is you're now in a much worse position than before you tried to get it prepared. I don't think my family would cope over Xmas without a tv downstairs - have you asked about a loan or will you be moving another one down?

It won't look attractive, for a cable to hang out, but that's the best temporary solution, so I won't be left without a TV.
Meanwhile, my bedroom 32-inch Samsung is doing its job downstairs.
The person from Sevenoaks will come next week to connect the cable temporarily.
Andrew from Sevenoaks called today (he was the one I dealt with when I bought my AV system). He's coming at 9pm to sort the TV problem temporarily, by pulling out the DisplayPort cable from the conduit & connecting it from the "outside" so we at least will have TV running for Christmas holidays.
He said he couldn't have come any other time, as he has some installation work in Manchester from tomorrow until Christmas eve.
A massive thumbs up to Sevenoaks!!! They have a permanent customer in me!

Job's done!
I can't believe the stupidity of the Pioneer engineers! They tried replacing a 5m cable with a 3m one!
No wonder they couldn't pass it through the conduit!
They also wrapped a cello tape to piggy back the old DisplayPort cable as it was pulled rough the conduit. Due to this, the old cable has been left damaged.
The cable hanging doesn't look attractive, but at least I have the TV on. I haven't seen the cluster of dots as yet. I'll now email Pioneer.
Huzzah!

The engineers came yesterday & replaced the drive board. But shortly after they left, there's no picture coming from the TV at all!
I've emailed them. Will also call them later this morning.
