Phillips 32PF9830 sound problems

Bought TV after reading review and the picture and features are excellent but the sound is a different matter. Generally it's OK apart from distortion from the top of the TV. I had it repaired in April, just prior to the expiry of the warranty, but it's gone again. Has anyone else experienced this or have i just got a rogue set? I'm about to go down the home cinema route, which will mainly remove the problem but it should work properly. Any thoughts?
