v. nice - am only viewing on an iPhone so can't comment too much on black levels etc, but Ol' Mr Neeson's close up looks great in the shot from The Grey
Yep, much better black level on your Panasonic 50GT50 than on my dear old LG 60PZ950T in the kitchen, when I played The Grey two nights ago!

I was seriously considering changing my order for a 65VT65, not least after Strapped's reviews of his 55" VT, as I'd paid the deposit on the ZT a month ago and then heard nothing. Then they took the decision out my hands this morning by telling me the ZT was in their warehouse waiting to be delivered.
The 65" VT looks like an awesome TV though, let us know what you think when it turns up?
You went for the 65 inch one, nice one! Some pictures will be nice. The Marantz will get one hell of a workout!
Hello mr malarky,
I was still going to try to steer you in the direction of the 65VT65 rather than the 60ZT65, assuming you had permission for that from mrs m! You might still be able to get your dealer to change, because the ZT is such a limited supply model that your dealer should have no difficulty passing it one to another customer. The extra five inches of the VT65 would have been usefel.
Irrespecitve of which new Panasonic plasma actually ends up in your house, since you're paying such a lot of money for a premium set you really should get it calibrated, after it has done about 200 hours, which seems to be the widely accepted run-in time. While you are doing that you might be able to get a reduction in the price for getting the Pioneer LX5090 calibrated at the same visit. Calibration is about £250, but part of that is for the calibrator's travel costs, so doing two at once should be cheaper than two separately. You weren't going to sell the Pioneer, were you? DON'T!! It will look very fine in another room, all the best What HiFi home cinema forumites have more than one telly, but seldom is a second telly as good as yours will be, especially after it's been calibrated!

Hi SoSJ, no decision made as yet about the kuro, but rest assured I will absolutely be getting the ZT calibrated once its run in - would seem criminal not too! If anyone knows any reputable calibration firms that operate in or around Surrey then recommendations would be gratefully received?

You're hardly ingratiating yourself with us single TV owners!
On a more serious note, there are reports that Panasonics drift quite a bit early on, so new owners might want to wait longer than advised before calibrating; perhaps even 500 hours.
That's obviously not a concern for Ellis DJ, who has his own meter and Calman, since he can check his results periodically. However, if you're paying a professional, it perhaps pays to be patient.

Cool, thanks for this, will give them a call
You're alright in Son_of_SJ's books, while I'm the scum of the forum!
Did you buy another TV recently?
Lol. No, not yet. I still have the Sony 46hx803 TV and I bought the Sony 40lx903 from Marks and Spencer for £550. So I have three TVs in total at present! I would like the GT60 too.
