Panasonic TX-P50GT50 'Pixelated Picture'
English

OK, so here it is, another post about a GT50....

Had mine for about 6 months (it was a replacement for a GT30 that couldn't be repaired by JL)

Just recently, I have noticed that in the middle of the screen, about a quarter of the way down, the screen has a 'patch' that becomes pixelated when trying to deal with anything that has a modicum of motion in it, Is this 'banding' or has the PDP gone on this set as well? (GT30 lasted about 7 months before the PDP failed...)

Any advice before I call JL would be appreciated!

Edit  - Just noticed that the TV is also struggling processing some blacks on that famous Northern Soap that my wife is currently watching, again, these are pixelated....

Best to rule out the source before giving JL a call.

Is this through one of the TV's integrated tuners, or an external tuner/PVR?

Have you only noticed this on broadcast content, or is the issue present when watching BDs or when gaming?

As his wife was watching coronation street i would hazard a guess it was the internal tuner although i could be wrong, it may be sky or virgin. :?

It is when watching TV via the intergrated Freesat Tuner

Haven't noticed it on BD, but then we don't watch many!

There has been talk of 'factory resets' 'solving' some peoples issues on here, suppose I could give that a whirl first!

The best advice I can give is to call JL and log your problem; then keep a close eye on things in the coming weeks.

Watch a few Blu-rays, too, and see if the problem shows up with an external source. This won't tell you if there's a problem with the GT50's Freesat tuner, but at least you'll know if it's a panel problem.

You're covered by the warranty, so you're not in disaster territory yet. It might even be the Freesat broadcast, as I've noticed this can be problematic at times, especially during bad weather.
