Judging by the number of lcd sets produced by panasonic this year, i wouldn't be surprised if panasonic only produce a few plasma sets for next year.
formerly known as slewis ---
It has been announced today that Panasonic will indeed be pulling out of plasma as of 2014 and production will cease by the end of 2013. I will not be mourning their passing, too many problems over the years with terrible aftersales to boot.

I wonder what that means for repairs, if, say, a replacement panel is needed?
Hardware: Panasonic TX-P50VT65B (calibrated); Cambridge Audio Azur 651BD; Yamaha RX-A810; Teac PD-H600; PS3; B&W 601 & 600LCR (series 3); Q Acoustics QAV (rear)

John Lewis could still get a GT50 panel a couple of months ago easy enough. People who had a Kuro under warranty did okay at getting them repaired. I am not concerned at all if mine goes wrong in the future and they didn't have a replacement panel I would just get my money back to buy something else.
Legally, they're meant to support their products for 7 years including availability of parts.

Thats gotta be a mis-print 4K OLED, that can't be right surely.
Why do you say that? I am pretty sure it is correct and will be the top dog, this Samsung is just OLED and not 4K:
The best ones will include both, that is my understanding.
I just find it strange that panasonic have an un-released 4K OLED tv and samsung haven't, i hadn't realized that technology had moved that far forward, i had assumed it would be a few years off.
