Panasonic TH-37LZD70 vs Samsung LE40F86BDX

Hello, im just trying to get some opinions on these LCD's. Im only interested in 1080, and will have a PS3 (Blu-ray) and standard Sky, plus terrestrial tv rigged up to it .Plus i cant exceed £1000 pounds, this however depends on warranty eg: i have to spend less than this if i have to purchase a extended warranty - john lewis throw 5 years in free so i can spend the full £1000 on the LCD. I know the panasonic has great reviews, but looking in stores at both i cant decided. Is it true standard def works better on the pana? and the Samsung you have to tweek the settings a bit to get a good pic? My room only permits 37-42" sets. thanks mike
