Probably Sony HW40.

30,000 hours life panel.  What do you guys think to that?   :?

Excellent, if it actually lives that long. I'm more concerned about IR etc. noted on the 77-inch panel.

Yep, the I image retention doesn't sound good!  Strange I have not seen any on the current 55-inch one, although I think I have heard reports about there being some.  Panasonic plasmas were reviewed as having some from logos but I haven't had any on my current one.  Perhaps they could sort it out before launch?  I hope it doesn't do it on all the screens.

RE: LG launches world's first curved 4K OLED TV

Im wondering if just like my LG55LA970 4K the new OLED 4K models could possibly end up Not Supported For 4K Streaming from Netflix ,even tho they say it that its Got the new "HEVC 265 CODEC"  as mine does , there are a small few LG models supported but ala these models have horrible Edge Lit Led and the blacks and Contrast are no better than a standard Led LG,, and LG knowing that my model has HEVC they went ahead with the non 4K Netflix app, why on earth would they do that, and why cant they sort it out for the "early adoptors" of 4K tech, it cant be that difficult and its not fair!, im  frustrated , Live talk agents are only given the Stock answers !, a few agents that dident know what "HEVC 265" was  and never heard of the HDMI 4 Firmware possible fix!,.LG please ,,.Dobrocop

I'm at 60 inch just now,77 inch would be a perfect size upgrade but at £19999 it's going to be a heck of a long wait till a 4K oled is affordable plus the fact it has LG stamped on the front just upsets me even more.cmon panasonic 80 inch 4k oled at say £8000 -£10000 you have one guaranteed sale from me.

For that kind of size, I would go for a projector instead. Some models are bright enough to be used during daytime without needing to black the room out.

Panasonic 4K OLED will happen, but the panels will be made by LG.

Well BigBoss that is a bummer :cry:never had no love for LG,I just consider it a cheapy cash generator type tv.we will see what comes out in the next 18-24 months ,saying that if Panasonic did have a 75-85 inch 4k OLED the price would be eye watering.

Could it be that Netflix wrote the app for WebOS and decided there weren't enough LG UHD models using the old OS for it to be worth its while?  The TV makers don't have a huge amount of control over who makes what app for what platform.  They can either A: pony up enough cash to entice the developer to make the app, or B: sell enough TVs that it becomes a priority for the developer to do so.

You do know that some of the existing Panasonic TVs use LG panels, don't you? Especially the ones with passive 3D. LG is the second largest manufacturer of TV LCD panels in the world, and a lot of manufacturers use them.

At the TV shootout last month, LG 55-inch OLED's curve didn't bother us, and we didn't notice any distortion. You're right in saying that a curve in such a small screen is pointless. LG themselves have said that their main focus is 65-inch screens, but obviously they have to make a 55-inch version for gel! Biggrin

Yes please!
