I understand that its around the 10k mark but i wanted to know if anyone had seen one set up and used for 3D, HD and SD and their thoughts? Also is it compatible with Sky HD?Thanks in advanceAndy

Re: LG CF3D Projector

I saw it at IFA a couple of weeks ago, and got confirmation from them that it's aimed at business/commercial use, not consumers. Any follow-up consumer model - nothing planned this year - will be future, more affordable, more home-friendly spec

But both Samsung and Sony did announce consumer 3D projectors - we'll have a review of the Sony model next issue; Samsung still to confirm UK price/date/details.

I never make judgements about kit of any kind based on a quick watch at a show. But it's a moot point - it's not a consumer projector, so it's got very different performance parameters than something you or I are ever going to enjoy at home.

Re: LG CF3D Projector

Thanks Claire the reason for all the questions is that my Brother who has lots of clients in Japan & China etc and he is always over there and basically he has a contact over there who is pretty high up in LG and jokingly i told my Brother to ask him if he could supply me with this projector and i could not believe it when he came back and said yes he could get one for me with a UK spec at cost price!

I was originally going to get the LG CF181D for my projector for home use but now i am extremely tempted by this offer but has my doubts about using it in the home after your comments!

I have a complete 3D set up already (Receiver & Blu-Ray player) & am i can get Sky 3D when it launches in a few weeks.

So do you think i should stick with the 2D projector for Home use?

Re: LG CF3D Projector

Honestly, Andy, it's an industrial beast designed for multi-watcher use (eg loads of people in pubs, wearing the cheap passive glasses). For that purpose it's spot on. But you could buy better 2D projector performance for your home.

As a projector user myself, i'm also keen to see what 3D options are out there - but if I were in your position, the commercial LG is not a move i'd make, even at a bargain price: as LG themselves say, it's simply not specfied for home use.

RE: LG CF3D Projector

if you don't want to spend alot of money you could buy an optoma  hd33 and add a tru3d polarising kit for a grand and get a passive 3d projector.you will need a silver screen so the polorisation still works. found it when looking for passive 3d projectors and found this american company that does it for alot of 3d projectors.
