Just How Much Difference Is There???

After reading the What Hi*Fi review last year I decideded to take the plunge and invest in the Sony KDL-40V200 with it's then great resolution of 1366 x 768.

Upon arriving at the Sony shop I did notice the KDL-40W2000 in all it's full HD glory but then the sales guy assured me that with HD content and Blu-ray the 40V2000 was more than enough and I would not be able to notice the difference if I put my choice up against the Full HD model...a test that was and still isnt too easy to set up.

So, without getting overly technical, how much truth is there in this?

Yes I am happy with my TV but then again I also bought it wanting to be amazed at HD TV and blu-ray movies...and if some forums are to be believed I will not be doing this with my "old technology"...please someone, put me out of my misery.

Thanks in advance!

If it's any help, I'm watching Sky HD and upscaled DVD on an 'out of the ark' Fujitsu 50in plasma (well, it's around 4 years old) and it looks just fab.
